Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts who reside in Atlanta. The Robertses' father was interested in the theatre at a young age. He was a part of the Emory University campus in 1952 and in other productions in Atlanta. When he joined in 1953 the Air Force, he appeared with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in the year 1957. Walter as well as his spouse quit the military in, when they enrolled Walter in Tulane University. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when the family moved from Atlanta to Decatur in Georgia in 1960. In 1964 Walter along with Betty Lou began production on the local Saturday morning children's TV show known as Bum Bum and His Buddies that they funded their own. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted six years. In the meantime, they were blessed with two additional kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in 1965 in 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
