Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is an American singer-songwriter. She's also known by her popular nickname, the Queen of Funk. Over the course of her career, which has stretched over five decades, she's had a total record of ten Grammys. She has also been ranked as the 65th most successful dance artist of all time in the history of Billboard magazine. Her birthplace was in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at an early age by her grandmother. In her early years, she was a member of various groups. The group she later joined was Rufus. at the age of twenty the singer released her first album, along with the group. The group won their first Grammy award a year later. Her self-titled debut album in the years that followed her debut solo album. The following years, she released other albums including "Echoes Of An Era", "The Woman I Am" as well as a track titled 'Funk This". She is also known for her work with charities. She established the Chaka Khan Foundation to help children of poor families as well as individuals with autism. Khan was also an actress at times. She was sister Carrie, the lead role in the musical "Mama I Want To Sing'.
